What can I expect?

On your first visit to the clinic your physiotherapist will complete a detailed history, observe how you move, perform physical measurements and share the assessment findings with you. For the Physiotherapist to see how your body moves and properly assess the area to be injured you may want to bring comfortable clothing such as a tank top or shorts to the assessment. We would also ask you to bring indoor footwear to change into.

You can expect to learn about what brought you into the clinic and how you can make changes which will have you feeling better and get back to doing the things you love.

You can expect to have things to do at home outside of your treatment time (i.e. clinical exercises) and you may need to incorporate some changes into your lifestyle to facilitate the changes needed for you to succeed. You can expect to be an active participant in your care.

You can expect to feel welcomed and comfortable in our clinic and start to find some symptom relief.

Do I need a Doctor’s referral to see you?

You do not need a referral from your Physician or Nurse Practitioner prior to seeing us. Physiotherapists are Primary Health Care Providers. Very few insurance companies still require a referral to be reimbursed for your treatment. We do recommend calling your insurance provider prior to your visit for clarification on if they require one.

Is Physiotherapy covered under Medicare?

No. Private physiotherapy in New Brunswick is not covered by Medicare, however you do have coverage under Medicare at the hospital for outpatient physiotherapy services. We believe that all New Brunswickers deserve access to physiotherapy care. We want what is best for our clients and we are happy to work with the physiotherapists at CCH to ensure you receive the care you need.

What are the costs?

The fee for an initial assessment is $110. This is an hour-long appointment to allow your physiotherapist ample time to assess, provide some treatment and document.

The fee for a 30-minute subsequent appointment is $90, and a 60-minute subsequent appointment is $110.

The fee for a Vestibular Assessment and treatment is $110. These appointments are always 60 minutes in length.

The fee for a Pelvic Health Assessment is $150. This is an hour-long appointment.

The fee for a 45-minute Pelvic Health subsequent visit is $110, and the fee for a 60-minute Pelvic Health subsequent visit is $150.

These costs are covered by most private insurance plans. We direct bill for many of these plans and accept cash, cheque, Interac, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We require 24- hours notice to cancel your appointment. Your appointment time is reserved for you, if you are unable to make it, and you give us more than 24 hours notice we can fill this gap in our physiotherapists schedule. If you cancel with less than 24 hours, or you do not show up for your scheduled appointment time you will be charged a fee. The first offense is half the cost of your appointment, and the second and consecutive offenses are the full cost of your appointment. If you have not shown up for 3 consecutive appointment times, we reserve the right to not reschedule you as we have clients that are waiting to fill those spots.

There is no charge to reschedule within 24 hours notice due to weather related circumstances.
